Shut Off Policy
A reminder to residents that door tag notices are no longer used when accounts with the town's Water Utility Department fall into delinquent status. Water service will not be reinstated until the delinquent amount and the $50 turn-on fee have been paid in full.
Clerk-Treasurer Walters stated, "Payment arrangements can usually be worked out with the Billing Office, but unless we are notified of a problem, we have no way of knowing an effort is being made to pay the bill and service will be curtailed."
Pursuant to Ordinance 2014-24, if you dispute a disconnection, you have the right to request a hearing before the Lowell Department of Public Utilities Committee during which you may be represented in person and by counsel, or by any other person of you choosing. At this hearing, you may present orally or in writing your complaint and contentions. This hearing must be requested in writing within ten (10) business days after the date of the notice by submission to:
